Defining Ballroom Runway: Ballroom runway is not the same as a traditional high-fashion runway. It’s theatrical, technical, and highly expressive. It’s about presence, confidence, and storytelling, not just walking clothes.
The model’s walk has no boundaries! There is no such thing as too much attitude in this show!
This is not a competition where models will be walking against each other. We look forward to having a variety of epic walks to make the show explosive.
Ballroom Runway History “Ballroom runway” comes from ballroom culture, a vibrant underground scene created primarily by Black and Latinx LGBTQ+ communities. Especially in New York City starting in the 1970s and '80s. Ballroom is both a culture and a competition scene, and “runway” is one of the many categories people compete in during a ball.
Models who participate in JUNGLE are NOT expected to perform the original ballroom runway walk styles that include dance.
Models are expected to execute fierce runway walks, immense confidence, daring and slick runway tricks, and an overall presence that can shake the room...
Our motivation behind paying our models, and giving out prize money is to make a statement for models who put in the time and work to perfect their craft. In an industry where not all models are paid, we are trying to make a meaningful difference
Whether you're participating for the guaranteed compensation, a new runway experience, exposure, new media for your portfolio, or the prize money, there are so many reasons for the hottest models across the globe to participate!
Models will be provided with the wardrobe themes, and expectations upon being casted. Clothing is not included in this experience because of the unique JUNGLE theme. Also, to make the prize money giveaway fair, we've made each model's outfit creativity a part of the criteria to win the prize money.
